Drew Bailey is in his first year at Parkview High School. Bailey serves as an assistant coach under head coach Nick Gast for the varsity program. He also serves as the 9th grade boys head coach, JV assistant, and GBL (Gwinnett Basketball League) asst coach for the 6th grade Parkview team. Bailey works in the social studies department and teaches 10th grade world history.

Prior to Parkview Bailey served as a head coach at Edmund Burke Academy, in Waynesboro, Ga, for three years. His teams progressed each year, finishing with 4, 7, and 11 win seasons. During his time at Edmund Burke Academy, Bailey served as the varsity head coach, JV head coach, middle school head coach, and coordinated and coached the jr pro boys and girls league at the school, which consisted of 3rd-6th grade boys and girls.

Before taking over at Edmund Burke Academy Bailey was a member of the staff at The Webb School of Knoxville, under the tutelage of former Davidson College standout, Landry Kosmalski, who is currently the head coach at Swarthmore College. Bailey served as the freshman head coach and varsity asst from 2007-2009.

Bailey has also gained experience in coaching by serving at various summer camps as a coach and counselor throughout the country; he served 3 years on staff at Bob McKillop’s basketball camp at Davidson College, one year as counselor at Snow Valley Basketball School in Waverly, Iowa which is led by Don Showalter, USA Men’s Basketball U17 head coach, and this past summer Bailey served as a basket instructor for Point Guard College, which is one of the country’s premier institutions for teaching the fundamentals.

Drew is a native of Valdosta, Ga where he attended Valwood School and was a 4 year letter winner.  He is the schools all-time leading scorer, with 1,598 points. He played collegiately at Brewton-Parker College and Piedmont College. He finished his collegiate career shooting 39% from the 3pt line, which ranks in the top 5 in Piedmont’s record books. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Piedmont College and then attended graduate school at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he obtained his Master of Science in Teacher Education.

In his spare time, Drew enjoys running, cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers, and reading.
